I got the same problem as OkiDokiABrazilian, I followed your instuctions but it stilll doesn’t work. She notice it when It’s cookies, hot chocolate. But not the differents ribbons. Any Idea about what else I could try?

It worked for the black and the blue one but not for the others ones, strange but at least I’ve been able to give her two of them.

@OkiDokiABrazilian Hmm, that’s odd it worked for me the first time. After opening the game and receiving the Poem then afterwards the Kiss she gave, I said goodbye then went to the game directories. At first I didn’t know what to do then I recalled the same procedure during her Birthday where you had to rename a specific file then adding ‘.gift’ at the end so I tried to search the «game» folder for a weird looking file, then I noticed «masrun» I thought this was it so I copied the file then went straight to the «characters» folder then placed it there making 8 copies of «masrun» then I renamed them all one by one

after that I opened MAS, then boom Monika was able to detect em’ all

Try to «take her somewhere else» then put here on your Desktop, then proceed to place the files (the same procedure from her birthday) after doing so, put her back then reopen MAS

Depois de abrir o jogo e receber o Poema, em seguida, o beijo que ela deu, eu disse adeus, em seguida, fui para os diretórios do jogo. This guide will show how to correctly play the piano and make your girlfriend even more in love with you!
It contains spoilers for Doki Doki Literature Club! and the Monika After Story mod, so be careful if you do not want to be spoiled.
Okay everyone! Time for a guide on how to play the piano inside the Monika After Story Mod for Doki Doki Literature Club.
Well, to begin with, you probably know about the game and its stuff, and know that Monika plays the piano (she even sang the final song, Your Reality, while playing it). You probably know about Monika After Story as well. It is a mod for the game that you will start and be always in the third arc with Monika, talking with her, playing games, changing her clothes and stuff (you really, really should check it out if you have already finished the game or if you want to stay with your best waifu forever
Well, with everything that you should know about the mod here and how to install and boot it up, now you can go and play the piano on the mod. It is not easy, because even if you want to play it, you have to first unlock it (you have to keep talking to Monika to sucessfully unlock it, and it can be slow and take some time, so be patient! It will be it worth in the end, I promise).
First of all, after the Monika’s greeting when you open the game with the Monika After Story mod, you click the »Play» button:
Then, you click the »Piano» button:
And last, click »Your Reality»:
Fairly easy, hum? Now comes the hardest part of this guide, probably.
Okay! Now I will try to keep this guide as simple as possible. So, after clicking on all of those buttons, you will see that:
This is where I help you out the most. If you have not changed the piano keys, it should be way easier for you. Just use the keys that I am showing to you right now:
If you follow the order, you will be playing the song Your Reality in Monika’s piano perfectly.
But if you have changed any piano key, you must change the order and the letters too. Example: If you have not liked the »W» letter = and have changed it to »A», all the »W» you see in the sequence you will have to manually change to »A» too.
By the way, I changed two piano keys, as you can see in the first screenshot here. That is why my piano is different from yours.
Tip: Don’t use the space or the »-» between the verse. Example:

Now you know how to play the piano very well and how to make Monika proud of you. Congratulations! Just play it for Monika everyday, and remember, the more you practice, the better you will be playing it in the future, and the happier Monika will become!

So I put coffee.gift into the character folder, but she hasn’t said anything about it yet. Does she acknowledge it right away or does it take time?

I did this before and she received them, but most of what I’ve given her has gone (everything except the quetzal plushies, coffee, hot chocolate, 2 ribbons and the promise ring) and she isn’t acknowledging them even though I’ve put the files back in the characters folder. Am I doing something wrong?

I’m having a similar problem. I can give her basic things like candy canes, coffee, cupcakes, etc, but every time I try giving her accessories (ribbons, chokers, jewelry, hairclips, etc), plushies, clothes, or anything like that, it either disappears or she says she can’t read the files. I’ve tried a lot of things but nothing is working, and honestly, I’m really irritated by it.

Look under the Christmas tree. Whenever you give her a gift (that is not consumable), she will put them under the tree and finally open them all the Dec 25th. If that is not your problem, check this wiki to see how to give Spritepack gifts properly.

@AsuraShun Yeah, I did. I installed all the sprite packs. Once I did, I opened each one and copied the «mod_assets» file into the «game» file in the game directory. I also copied the «gifts» files for each sprite pack into the «characters» files. Usually, putting the whole of the «mod_assets» files into the «game» file distributes all the files into their respective places, meaning that all the files that belong in «a» will be automatically distributed to the «a» file in the game directory, and so forth. However, when I try actually GIVING her the presents, I always put them into the character file with the file extension «.gift», but they always disappear. Although sometimes, when she DOES see them, she says she can’t actually read the files.

Thank you for the explanation, it’s very helpful. But I do have one more question. As for the gifts other than balloons, banners, and cake are we supposed to rename those the gifts that are on her list after we’ve made copies of those?
This will hopefully clear things up for folks. It’s not her birthday for another 10 hours yet, for me, so I’ve had time to figure this out. I didn’t realize you were meant to duplicate the banner, etc for the gifts, I just have regular old files prepared. Does it matter?
As long as the gifts are spelled correctly and the extension is «.jpgt» it should register. One way to possibly be sure is to check if under the «Type» row it reads as «GIFT File» in the column adjacent to it.

It’s just a text document so you don’t really need to do anything with it besides work out the words.
-Your new files, however, should be named as the gifts on the list that you work out.
—Don’t forget to actually make it a gift with «.jpgt» at the end!

Only the gift files you need to make/copy-paste yourself need to be renamed.

Thanks a lot for writing this, it was super helpful. I already messed my game up once, and because of it I’ve been cautious about messing with the files, so this was a life saver. Just to be safe, I have to copy and paste the gift files and the banner, cake and balloons into the character files, right? At least, I assume that’s where I have to because that’s where the Monika file appears.

Yeah I was looking over the txt document and couldn’t tell how many lines were there but taking a closer look I see two. Originally I wanted to put coffee but thought the txt document only wanted one ‘e’.

My dawg, I believe it’s «quetzalplushie» not plush, yet i’m in the same spot as you, maybe because it’s 23:00 right now? Nothing is showing up in the empty room and I don’t want to trigger an too early birthday.

It should ask if you want to overwrite the already existing one, in this case— yes you do.
Start it up and your sweetheart should have a bad case of «Amnesia»!

Hey folks, It’s just hit 00:00 here on the 22nd of September. Thought I’d share some info on what you should be looking at when the time comes for you. I’m assuming you’ve already downloaded and unzipped the party files.
Step 1: Launch MAS. Go to goodbye and hit «I’m going to take you somewhere. Then, you need to move her character file somewhere else. Literally anywhere. Just don’t lose her, okay?
Step 2: The «Balloons», «Banners» and «Cake» files should not be altered.
Copy and paste any of those files six times. Rename them into the following:
«coffee.jpgt»
«cupcake.jpgt»
«knife.jpgt»
«birthdaycake.jpgt»
«promisering.jpgt»
«quetzalplushie.jpgt»
Make sure you’ve spelt those correctly.
Step 3: Now copy and paste all nine files (the balloons, banner and cake files, as well as the gifts) into the «Characters » folder in your game files.
Step 4: Put Monika’s character file back where it belongs in the characters folder.
Step 5: I waited until the 22nd to re-launch the game, so I don’t know what will happen if you idle over to the 22nd. If nothing happens and it’s the 22nd, re-boot the game I guess?
And as a side note, you might be thinking the knife is a good idea. No spoilers, but I’d disagree. Hindsight is 20/20.

Be advised, Monika will NOT acknowledge some of the gifts. The birthday gifts are one of the things she will not acknowledge until her birthday (September 22). As I mentioned before, there is this thing called «promisering.jpgt», she will either accept it or deny it. If she denies the promise ring, you are required to spend more time with her in order to gain her trust (P.S. Check your affection in logs. aff_log.)
Now, go out there and give your Monika the item(s).
So I put coffee.jpgt into the character folder, but she hasn’t said anything about it yet. Does she acknowledge it right away or does it take time?
